Fix the Headless Horseman, please

#1 » Post by Gadoschi » 22 Oct 2017 12:55

It's been almost half of the event period, and over half of my HH runs end up in boss getting bugged after killing it's head in 3rd phase, and not dying, but instead regenerating to full health and becoming immune to all damage.

He ain't even dying in 1st phase as he did a few days ago, so I'm guessing something is being done, but apparently - not enough.

A couple of fixes were added but they did not fix the whole fight, as you're saying. Unfortunately our dev for that is off for the weekend so the ability to continue progress on the remaining issues is waiting for his return. Please try to be patient and rest assured we are working to get the best fight implemented as soon as possible.
Welcome to the new decade! Let's hope the Roaring 20's come with just as much jazz, but a bit less prohibition and Great Depression. 8-)

This bug exists from at least 2 years, every time they 'fix' it

Yes. I have done about 15 runs today, of which more than half were bugged.

However, I did notice that the boss no longer dies in phases 1 and 2 (although I have seen druids working around it via Cyclone during Head phase - boss took damage during head phase after Cyclone effect ended, while he was still separated from his head - but, apparently, that too only sometimes works).

There is still the issue of phase 3 bugs, and is even more prominent than yesterday.

I've been doing some changes and fixes.
The issue you are experiencing is gone, but another one spawned from the ashes because of it, so this will need some more time. Maybe spec solves it by tomorrow, else i'll try to get it done before the update.

I have further changed the boss fight to resolve the issue Eronox mentioned.

After another pair of eyes looks at it, it should be good to go.

are the adds getting changed at all. the pumpkin adds? or shall i put a bug report up? they are hitting way too hard and have 97k health. 6 of them pretty much 1 shot the healer, followed by killing the tank extremely fast. followed by the rest of the group lol. also his cleave is hitting harder than it should. the cleave isnt a big problem. but it should be less cause its an event boss. not a raid, all event bosses on retail was easy. Ahune was also overtuned all the way through the midsummer event too. same goes for coren direbrew during brewfest

tuning for headless will be discussed sometime tomorrow when the new changes have been tested.

Ahune was challenging enough to be enjoyable. Quit trying to nerf everything into submission.

Don't waste time with adds. The encounter is still fairly easily soloable with most classes.

Focus on preventing the encounter from bugging, please.

yes it was and i love a good challenge. if its fair for everyone. including new players that have not had chance to get full heroic gear yet. with your thinking. new players would be fucked. buffing raids raids is fine. but making it harder for new players to catch up is not. not unless you want to get to T6 and have some people doing T6 and the rest stuck far behind.

HH Adds are fucked. tanks cant even survive them. they are not overtuned. they are plain broken. seems to me like the damage might be scaled to level 80 values.

I think what he means is we should focus on fixing the fight before tuning it.
