A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
Hello.
Hellraisers will be hosting A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity run on March 22, at 7pm. The achievement requires lower maximum gear lvl (described in detail below) and completing TOC10HC without any wipes.
Awards: "the Argent Defender" title, achievement, bragging rights, lots of fun
Our first run was a success.
We are in need of the following classes/roles for our second run:
- tanks (any class)
- dps (frost dk, rogue, priest, warlock, mage)
Being able to play 2 specs would be greatly appreciated.
Players from both Horde and Alliance are welcome.
Please make sure to bring the following items with you to the raid:
- 5 swiftness potions (50% movement speed boost) for the Anub'arak encounter - submerge phase,
- haste potions (if a caster dps),
- 5-10 mana potions,
- 3-4 flasks appropriate to your role.
Other buffs (fish, runescroll of fortitude and drums) will be provided by the raid organiser.
Please log 10 minutes before announced raid start because every player/character is required to pass gear inspection before joining the raid group.
For more information either send me a PM here or talk to me in game (character name: Paleadin/Paleadinator).
Allowed gear:
- all items below lvl 245
- the following lvl 245 items:
a) profession crafts
b) items purchased with Emblems of Triumph
c) T9 items (upgraded to max lvl 245)
d) TOC10HC items
- lvl 258 cloaks from TOC10HC Insanity run (50/50 attempts)

Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
Can a dev pls confirm that my original post gear requirement is correct?
I don't want to screw it up over a small detail (an item or two).
Also, what about hunters arrows? Do they need to be of level lower than 245 as well?

Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
These ids are from our source code, it checks every character's items, if it finds an item that is not in that list, the achievement fails. Yes, the ids correlate from wowhead ids (www.wowhead.com/item=id)Gadoschi wrote:Those are item ID's from wowhead's site I presume?
Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
Ty.
But, correct me if I'm wrong - this code only lists items of lvl 245 and 258 allowed in the achievement run.
It does not list any item lower than lvl 245.
Does that mean ALL items lower than lvl 245 are allowed?

Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
That will probably fail the achievement, I suggest you trying at the PTR, as I don't really know, I never done it neither did I script it myself.
Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
232 and lower and the listed items are accepted.Gadoschi wrote:Ty.

Re: A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity
If that really is the whole code, no wonder people have failed it, because it's wrong.
The code should, along with the listed items, include all items of level lower than 245.
I have found the same information from lead blizzard's designer of this code on several important wow database websites and all confirm you can use all items under ilvl 245, regardless of the patch they were released in.
To confirm this further, I have browsed battle.net forums, and came to the same conclusion.

While I agree with you, Gnurg, if the items are NOT in the code, they will fail the achievement, even if they shouldn't.Gnurg wrote:232 and lower and the listed items are accepted.Gadoschi wrote:Ty.

The code should be complemented with some sort of item level dependancy code line to include all lower lvl items without listing them individually (I'm not expert, but that is just common sense).
