Interactive Bugtracker Prioritization

#1 » Post by Gadoschi » 16 Oct 2017 23:08

I have had this experience on the server where I played before I came here, and it used to work really well. It consisted of the following:

1. Players make Bugtracker reports.
2. Once the issue has been confirmed, players vote up issues they find most urgent so developers know what to focus on.
3. Developers focus on fixing the most voted up issues first.
4. Players are happy.

What do you say?

Basically, you let the community decide which bugs are the most game breaking at that time.

I also suggest separate voting function and table for PW and TW, since PW is obviously going to have more support due to higher population.

This is somewhat redudant as we priotize the bugs and issues which the crowd creates sound about the most.
This isn't something new here though, in my experience, it has been this way since I at least got here.

Nevertheless: We are absolutely taking players highest concerns into prio, why would we care about TK if SSC has a boss not working? :P

Yes, but you also give utmost priority to Primal issues over TW issues, even though a specific TW issue might actually have more popular support over another Primal issue.

That is why I would suggest separating PW and TW issue ranking/clasification.

Primal is the server currently being developed so Primal issues will always take priority over TrueWoW issues regardless of the popular support presented by the feature. That would be an addition that would basically not be followed even if implemented.
