It has been brought up before, so here's a link to the old thread:
http://truewow.org/forum/viewtopic.php? ... fs#p371406
The suggestion: Upon entering Naxxramas, all World Buffs should be removed.
I consider
World Buffs the following:
- The buff from turning in Nefarian, Onyxia, Hakkar or Rend's head.
- Dire Maul Tribute run buffs.
- Seasonal buffs like Omen, perfume, etc.
- Flower buff from Felwood.
**
I've alter it to only cover the buffs that are limited, basically the heads.
Pros:
- Easier to scale Naxxramas bosses. If a boss is intended to be done without world buffs, but is done with world buffs, it gets simple way too easy. If all bosses are intended to be done with world buffs, you limit your tries to the world buffs you've collected, hesitating guilds from giving the encounter proper tries before it's nerfed. If we don't have to take the world buffs into account, we can make the encounter challenging without having to worry about it being way too hard to pull off on 1-2 proper tries.
- Progressing through content isn't halted by the number of buffs you have left, but rather dedication.
- You are now free to use your world buffs on earlier raids (as you don't have to save them for Naxxramas), allowing quicker clearing of those raids. The older suggestion would make the buffs kind of obsolete.
- You don't have to spend 20 minutes on gathering the much-needed world buffs for some encounters. It's boring to wait for this.
Cons:
- It's not how it was in Vanilla.
- The places you went for World Buffs might turn obsolete. (They do provide good gear, so I have my doubts.)
- When progressing, you can go for a more trial and error approach, losing some of the current atmosphere to raiding, where you have to do it properly, so you don't waste the buffs.
Feel free to give your opinion on the suggestion. Also, it would be nice if you could state if you're in
favour (+1) or
disfavour (-1) of this suggestion.

mainly due to it allowing for proper boss tuning. I haven't played for very long on primal but i've already seen first hand how world buffs make the tuning way too complicated for the devs to deliver a flawless boss encounter and you can't blame them for it.
This is not retail vanilla and the way people used worldbuffs back then differs vastly from what we have here, especially stuff like world event buffs due to 3.3.5a.

Might be a little late to change this, but for the case of tuning the final bosses of Naxx +1

I think this should probably only be considered for the head buffs. I don't think any guild has been getting dire maul buffs mid raid since the change to the trash mobs. I see dire maul buff and flower buff as a thing you can get before raid to speed up the start.

Do it on tbc, there's only a few months left. For comparison, most realm first Kel'thuzad (and similarly difficult bosses) kills on retail used world buffs.

I'm absolutely up for this. It's stupid to sclae bosses to be beatable only with wbuffs but if you scale them so that you don't need wbuffs ,wbuffs will provide you a huge advantage. This helps save time and makes progression really feel like progression.
Although I'd leave Felwood and Seasonal buffs.
