If people are like me and use ad blocker to avoid seeing ads that pop up on every possible site you access they won't see them. :P

Actually most likely you would see. Adblock works on way that just block specific links from getting on page.
Example: One page (this one) have picture from Imgur like [ img]imgur.com/werqwr[ /img] and if you insert that link into Adblock, picture would be blocked from downloading and showing on this page.

Adblock have lists of ads all over the world but does not have all. If you check ExtremeTop100 and other similar sites you would see that all ads.google.com are removed but ads that those sited placed are still there for all people to see since they are not on Adblock list.

HAVE TO SAY
Adblock for FF vs Chrome.
Idea of Adblock is to not let it be on your PC at all for mostly two reasons, first one if you dont want to have ugly web pages with fake download buttons that are actually ads or porn type of ads, and second to prevent ads downloading to PC since you would lower your bandwidth, you would lose more MB if you are on some plan like on mobile phone and they could contain malicious code.
On FF, adblock does not allow ads to be downloaded on PC while on Chrome ads are downloaded but does not shown on pages. That way you both waste MB and still get chance to get malicious code via them.

PS: was writing this post for 45min because Hots, sorry :S
