[Accepted] A Simple Suggestion

#1 » Post by Drago » 23 Aug 2012 10:36

Hey, so I have a short and helpful suggestion, and it is to change the colour text of the Autobroadcast. People miss it most of the time because it's in a very dark colour, preventing from reading it normally. I would say a bright colour would be better, because it will draw the eye of the player and then he actually reads it. Here's an example of how hard it is to read it:
[Autobrodcast]: The Arena season has a duration of 3 months. Get queuing! (And excuse me, I use a 16pt font and I can't see it, still.)
Now here's an example of a broadcast I would actually see:
[Autobrodcast]: The Arena season has a duration of 3 months. Get queuing!
Or, if you dislike red because it draws TOO much attention it can be green or light blue:
[Autobrodcast]: The Arena season has a duration of 3 months. Get queuing!
[Autobrodcast]: The Arena season has a duration of 3 months. Get queuing!
I don't think it can be yellow because it's the announcment colour, so didn't put that. Please consider this as an actual idea, because.... Well. If people start seeing it, they can actually read the announcement sometimes, and maybe get an encouragement to join RDF/Arena/RBG/Seperate Dungeons/Seperate Battlegrouds etc. making our lifes much easier (Yes, less tickets for GM's/Moderators about announcing RDF/RBG etc. and less whispers required for players.)

Yes you can, I was in another Trinity test server (nevermind the reason) and they had the exact same autobrodcast feature with a light blue text. So I think it's more than possible...

The colour of those messages is not dark..It's something like this.

Also, you can modify the background colour of your chatbox adapting it for every colour, because that autobroadcast is not effected by the "System Messages" colour.

Even changing it to another colour (e.g. light green), if the player's chatbox has ligher colour background,it will be hard to read.

I can show you how my chatbox is designed if you want it ;)

Well I don't think a player should change his chat box colour just to see an autobrodcast... I think half of the server has it in the default colour, and besides, that colour annoys the eyes, therefore the default option of your brain is to ignore it.

I personally think the light blue is best because places like Feralas, Stranglethorn and Ungo'ro Crater etc.... Have a lot of green in them, and since the only blue place is the sea and water (which isn't visited that much) it will still be readable.

Looks better. Tia can you do some samples of some colours with a tinted background chat box and make a poll i guess if you really want or we can decide here. It's not that big of a deal lol
