It might have been proposed before, but I couldn't find a dedicated thread for it.

Would it be possible to make overall weapon transmog work like it does for ranged weapons? i.e.Transmog a sword into a mace.

*As all other transmog items, you would have to be able to equip the item if you want to transmog it. i.e. Shaman wouldn't get to transmog a mace to a sword as shamans can't use swords.

[hide="How I imagined it"]You would have the three pools below, which you can switch within. Pool 2 could be altered if you have a workaround for fury warriors.

Pool 1: Ranged Weapons (Already existing)

• Gun
• Bow
• Crossbow

Pool 2: Two-Handed Weapons (Staff and Poleaxe should not be included due to dual wielding fury staff/poleaxe warrior)

• Two-Handed Axe
• Two-Handed Mace
• Two-Handed Sword
• Polearm
• Staff

Pool 3: One-Handed Weapons

• Axe
• Mace
• Sword
• Main-Hand Dagger to the others, but not others to Main-Hand Dagger

PS. If you're in overall against transmog, you can just disable it by writing ".set transmog off", so don't give negative feedback due to that you dislike transmog.

Subjects to give opinion on:
- Overall idea.
- Allow Main-Hand (Caster) Dagger to be transmogged into Axes, Maces and Daggers? (Not the other way around though)
- Include Polearms and Staves in the 2-hander pool (Is Blizz-like as of 6.0.2).

Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Polearms and Staves can now be used to transmogrify Two-Handed Axes, Maces and Swords, and vice versa.

What do you mean by staff and polearms not being included? What would be the big issue about it? Sorry if this was clear... I might just have missed the point.

It should not be possible for a fury warrior to dual-wield with staff/poleaxe. Other than that, it would look silly.

Alright I see that now when reading the tooltip of Titan's Grip. However I do not think this would make any conflicts as it is just a visual appearance but I understand where you are coming from, and yes it would most likely be seen as very silly.

I do not mind either way if they can visually equip double staff/polearms or not. And if not obvious, I am for this suggestion.

+1, I see no harm in this, though it's up to to the staff to see if it's feasible.
Personally, I want to be able to change my LK tank mace (1h mace) into another mace that happens to a "main-hand" mace - something which the current system doesn't allow.
Other than that, I have no gripe with the current system (besides waiting very patiently for Legendary mog to return, that is).

on retail it works like this:

1 hand weapons:
(Mace - Axe - Swords)

2 hand weapons:
(Mace - Axe - Swords)
(Polearm - Staff)
(Bow - Gun - Crossbow)

Restrictions:
1º Daggers, fists, wands, shields, and off-hands can only be mogged with items of the same type
2º you still must be able to equip both weapons normally.

transmog is not blizzlike in WOTLK soo if we are doing it at least lets do it right.

I don't see any harm in mixing in those two with the other 1-handers even if it's not correct by retail's transmog options.

You need to be able to use the item if you want to transmog it. This wouldn't allow druids to 'use' swords.

yeah I had suggested this to nyeriah in the past, i think there is an issue with sounds not changing or something like that, i don't know how the suggestion ended up though
