[Accepted] Possible way to 'reduce' the combat bug

#1 » Post by Wilcox » 08 Sep 2015 18:07

Combat bug is annoying, we all agree on that. There isn't much to do unless you can go invisible / suicide / feign death / hearthstone / relog etc etc if you can't find the mob / critter that puts you in combat. We have a lovely feature such as '.debug hostil', it's very useful but sometimes not enough. Sometimes, a simple rabbit will keep you in combat & make life hell for you.

Solution in my mind: .debug hostil should kill all critters you're in combat with. I see no harm in it, plain and simple. Discuss?

Well sometimes you aint bugged with just a critter..

Therfor it could be really exploitable such as quest objectives or XP farming (even though the XP part is disabled, more issues persists)

Just do as Vursux does, ALT+F4 and move on :)

make sure you read the thread correctly.. it's a way to REDUCE the combat bug, not REMOVE it. critters don't grant experience and typing .debug hostil to kill a critter is much harder than right clicking a critter, dear god, you were all given brains so please use them

tell me, how can this exactly be exploitable? what can you farm with this feature?

Its gonna be a bit wierd critters randomly dying, but this would be a huge improvement to the server, if it affects gameplay it only makes it closer to blizzlike (no combat bug lel)

Maybe later if someone feels like doing it you can improve it by dropping aggro instead of just killing critters.

Hmm after going through the thread again I changed my opinion ^_^

Although, wouldn't using a macro spam to farm those exploits being concidered as an exploit?
I mean, aint no blizzlike about that.. But.. Neither is the combat bug so :/

I guess I stay on the neutral side, as always 8-)

Keep it up Willy!

You don't get hired to the staff, you volunteer for it. If anything, you should hire Nyeriah for implementing all ideas you want :D
