CB removal posibility

#1 » Post by cherno666 » 03 Sep 2015 13:56

As Nymune said to open a topic , so I did.

Well I wonder can we do something to remove cb (especially Tirion and Croc in icc) that is really annoying and make it nonabusable during encounters.

I understand that giving a player option has a high risk of abusing , but what I had in mind is maybe making some places in instances remove cb when you pass through.

For example when entering a room with next boss you get cb cleared , that way it can't be abused , as gates for that boss are closed during encounter.

2nd possible solution I think of is similar to Uldu , where you can just port to same place and remove combat , that way it also can't be abused as portals aren't accecible during bosses exept dbs one which well I see no reason to be abused.

3rd possible solution would be what I said in other topic , make Croc and Tirion have timer maybe that after 5 mins of their scrip starting removes combat from them?

1st solution seems best to me as it can be applied to Uldu as well.

I personally don't mind opening a ticket or IRC chat , but we had a number of raids where all GMs were afk/offline and it really sucks as some of those cbs keep coming back and noone to clear them.
Also that way we won't have to bother GMs even when they are online with such a trivial thing as CB.

Thanks for your time , let me know what you think about my suggestion.

I think some of those timer and zone combat removal would mess up stuff. There are bosses and NPCs, who relay on staying in combat to track stuff and that could be messie should there be a general solution for this.

You could always apply for a GM position, answer some tickets a week and remove combat in your own raid when it is needed. As you said there were times when there was no help around, so they clearly could use a few more staff members.

Well me applying for gm is not the answer , It still leaves same problem I mentioned. Who will remove cb when I'm not online ? I just wonna think of some acceptable sollution that's why timer seemsdecent solution , as 5 mins is the time you need to clear trash after tirion and croc scripts are triggered. Besides , gms have more important things then sitting all day removing combat bugs I belive.

All 3 of your suggestions seem good, and result is pretty much same, so only question is what would be easiest for devs to script.

It would be great to see this happen, I've been in many raids where Combat Bug slowed raid significantly, yes, you can always make ticket or poke someone on IRC that can clear CB, but that takes time for both players in raid and GMs, and there are situations when no one is around to help, so systematic solution to this common problem would be best.

Flaws though;

First suggestion means: Have tank pull all mobs with healers and let the raid enter the boss room. Tank and healer follows. No need to kill trash, saving the raid a lot of time.

Second would allow people to figure ways to do DBS in ways to include that exploit. For instance dropping mana regen with the possibility of just porting back and forth to reset Mana Potion CD, or get out of combat for a ress, alt. get out of combat and reset aggro meter / avoid wipe. It can also be used for those annoying trolls who'll be able to just leave the room and HS away (since being in combat means chance of taking damage and you can't really escape there alive).

Third is probably the best, the timer can be changed etc. Honestly I don't know that much about ICC as idc so much about PvE but timers also means possiblity of failures in places the possibility shouldn't exist.

Just pointing out the flaws so you can find solutions for it.

1st one : well indeed that can happen , I didn't think of that , it sounded like best idea but if that flaw you said can't be worked on without abusing idk

2nd is only abusable on dbs , but who cares about dbs , its not like its a boss that you need to abuse to kill , its a faceroll anyway , its not like you need to abuse ress or mana pots to finish the fight , so even if some1 actually abuses that on dbs its just lol

3rd one basically would reset combat from NPC itself after some time also removing combat from raid members

idk , all those are just ideas that came through my mind , if some1 comes up with something else just suggest it as well

I hate the CB, although making a removal option will indeed cause instability where people can exploit ALOT of things!

1. Player types .CB remove
2. Server lists .debug hostile
3. Server compare distance of mobs from list with player
4. Player lose agro from mobs that are 90y (twice distance player can reach) away.

Considering about 90y is also view distance, this will significantly lower chances of exploiting since player cannot even see mob.

A nice idea ... maybe 90y check is too much cause if you are staning in front of sindy with cb you may not clear it cause she is near.

maybe give command to remove cb and add exeptions to : .cb remove can only be done in raids/instances unless .debug hostil check lists bosses? that way you can't clear CB from anything if in .debug hostil you have Sindy or any other boss listed and will make it unable to abuse?

Limiting to Raid/Dungeon/Battlegrounds while easier is not fully. Here we can decide to set it for just them but l would like to expand it to whole.

Idea that if boss is on list, command wont work is good anti abuse idea.

90y idea is for open world, in Raid/Dungeon/Battlegrounds it can be lowered.

Similarly to critters, .debug hostil will also respawn Crok and Tirion, clearing the combat issues that way.
