[Accepted] Enhancing the .qc command vol 2

#1 » Post by Wilcox » 03 Sep 2015 11:08

I got this idea after I read Ragnorak's suggestion, it's not really relevant as this is meant to improve the command in another aspect but yeah here it goes

instead of .qc'ing each quest, when you type .qc the command should scan all the quests you have & tell you if there are any bugged ones.

why? i'll explain why in a simple example.

this is an apple

you can slice the apple with a knife

or you can slice the apple with this device

conclusion, it makes our lives much easier

But what if you want different slice sizes or you dont want to cut the entire apple?

Imo keep .qc for a single quest and maybe add another command like ".qc all" or ".qc questlog"

sure, that's also a valid argument, you're right

Exactly! This gives you the choice whether to cut the apple with the knife or "the device"!

apple is the .qc script, the tool is the way you execute the script

in this case, you would be alergic to the script, you shouldn't play games then.

What if someone is alergic to knife?

Best reason I ever read on those forums ^_^ :tick:

OT: I agree!
Addons such as Carbonite, and for unexperienced users, QC wont work properly as linking a quest would also link its questline status and stuff ^-^

I think that's an overkill. It could be split on a secondary command or something.

Like ".qc all" or whatever.

Typing ".qc all" will iterate through your active quests, completing the bugged ones and notifying you if they have comments (if any). Like this:

i was thinking more like, you have 4 quests; A B C D, let's say B is bugged

.qc all ->

A was not bugged
B was completed
C was not bugged
D was not bugged

I can't really understand what changed in that picture xd

Well we had an addon to complete the quests for us. I don't know if that addon is still relevant as the addon sometimes says that some quests should be completed and bugged but they are not bugged according to current .qc I guess they didn't update the addon or maybe you just gotta redownload it each time?

I'd say that trying is the best one can do in order to higher themselves from the people crying and only complaining. Whilst you try, it doesn't mean it is always going to be the most successful result but I'd like to think that it is still a better choice than standing idle.
