[Accepted] .ilvl command

So this guy gave nice idea which could replace alttabbing to Armory and even gearscore addon.

Anyhow, lm making suggestion for introducing new command that will show item level and gear score. Example:

Code: Select all

.ilvl or .lvl Fastor
output would be
Fastor Mage 6278 GearScore | 269 Average ItemLevel
  • Instead of .ilvl can be used command .gs or both can work same.
Command will show both Gearscore and ItemLevel.
Command can be used on self if name not set or other player if name is set but other of user.
Command can be used on players that are not in visual range or same place.

Thank you. l hope it will come to live way faster than my other idea did. This is very useful to new 80s like guy on picture that is collecting gear and also to everyone to remove that stupid addon.

Pretty much sure item level calculator is already in, since something must calculate for lock of dungeons.

Why can't people just enable showing the item levels in the options menu like I do?

Simple because that show ilvl of each item, so you need manualy to calculate average. This way server does it for you.

Also, we can use Average ilvl instead of GS.

Gearscore the addon by itself is a useful tool, its the way most people use it that is idiotic & should be bannable lol.

Why the hate for GS and not item level? Gearscore is a more accurate representation of the quality of your equipment, IMO, as it also counts the enchantments and gems in the final score.

+1 for the idea if it also informs the GS.

lol, both are bad as they don't actually consider if the characters are itemized properly. Gearscore is just a random value multiplied by item slot tho, with enchants and gems on top of it.

-1 for informing of the raw ilvl average or gearscore values, as they won't check if the player is properly itemized.
This will just end up being used as another way that people discriminate against players, who actually bother to properly itemize their gear vs the idiots who stack ilvl/gs.

Well it's just a shortcut for lazy people that dislike tabbing to armory *cough* *cough* :P

It doesn't throw in something entirely new, Relina
