How to Play with Legion Models

We all love Wrath of the Lich King, otherwise we wouldn't be here. But sometimes, it's nice to see a fresh take on small things like character models, mounts, NPCs, or armor. If you are interested in playing using Legion-based models, be aware some are quite large (updated boss/raid NPCs especially) which can make visibility a bit difficult at times. But if you just love the idea of moving into update graphics within our community, take a look below!

1. Locate your WoW Install folder
You are going to be downloading a series of patches and saving them into your Data folder. To do this, you need to know where your WoW installation is. Usually, this is the same as the location your wow.exe file is, which is what you use to launch the game.

2. Keep a list of the required patches
The size of the required patches (altogether) is about 1.33 GB. Depending on your internet download speed, this can take quite some time to download. If you want to keep motivated and stay on track, remember this list and cross things off as they are completed:
  • A
  • B
  • F
  • G
  • K

3. Download patches and place into data folder
All patches have been grouped together into a Google Drive direct downloadable folder. This download is available here or you can find "Legion Model Data Pack" under the Various Downloads heading of our Downloads page.

If you have downloaded all of the above available patches and placed them into the Data folder, you are done! Launch the game as you normally would and most gamefolk should appear using the new models automatically. If you had the client open already, you will need to close it and reopen it.

TrueWoW staff did not create any of the content shared in this post. As a result, it would be difficult for us to debug or otherwise address issues this may cause to your ability to connect and play on our server. While staff who have used these patched have not experienced any issues, it's always good to be cautious when using large client modifications. We recommend you keep or create a stable backup copy of your client, just in case.
Welcome to the new decade! Let's hope the Roaring 20's come with just as much jazz, but a bit less prohibition and Great Depression. 8-)
