Unfair mute
Unfair mute
I'm not one to complain on the forums but I feel this needed some light shed on it.
I've been playing on this server for 3 years, I have never been muted. Though earlier today I got muted for using the wrong channel. I wrote in the wrong channel once, I got no warning and then got muted. I'm well aware of the channel rules, and I follow them. Writing in /world was simply an accident.
I'm not complaining about the length of the mute as it is relatively short, I'm complaining about being muted at all with no warning.
Where'd the warnings go?

Re: Unfair mute
Indeed you are supposed to be warned prior to being muted on a public channel and the mute is lenient which is correct here. In addition, warnings are meant to be plentiful so the player is fully aware. We are encouraging channels right now, not forcing them.
Moderator Shaeligator muted you, she can explain her mute.

Re: Unfair mute
I'm 100% certain the last thing said on that channel was "Please use the correct channels" followed by an announcement about which channels to join. Preceding that were another two warnings to other players to use the correct channels. You may have logged in shortly after I warned the others and announced to join the correct channels, which led to you being muted without warning.
But after all, the police will still fine you for speeding, even if it was an accident. Try to keep an eye on which channel you're typing in to avoid incidents like this. I'm sincerely sorry if you feel you've been unfairly muted and I hope you understand that after several warnings, it's impossible for us to know who has seen that warning and who hasn't. If we were to warn everyone (which I try to do on most occasions) then I'm sure our fingers would get severe friction burn. Hell I could probably be muted given the amount of times I've spammed my "Please use the correct channels" macro.
Feel free to PM me if you want to talk with me about it.

I believe this is one of the reasons why mods use individual warnings.Shaeligator wrote:You may have logged in shortly after I warned the others and announced to join the correct channels, which led to you being muted without warning.
I don't think they give warnings before speeding tickets so I don't see how this relates at all.Shaeligator wrote:But after all, the police will still fine you for speeding, even if it was an accident.

why the fuck do you think people pay attention to details at all?
we r not forced to new changes. we r just not given any choice.
Re: Unfair mute
The reason /lfg existed at all was cause /LookingForGroup was bugged.thats why you blocked lfg channel to replace it with LookingForGroup?
The difference between /lfg and /LookingForGroup is that /LookingForGroup is a blizz made chanell that everyone joins automatically and even when the leave it, there is a option in the settings to join back in it by default or per login, so you never forget it, while /lfg was a custom chanell that some people never even heard about, and never seen any chat in it.
Hope that clears up for you why /lfg was blocked.
Re: Unfair mute
...you dotn have to explain that to me. i understand that.
its still not about lfg/lookingforgroup but about decision making.

Re: Unfair mute
What royal said. No point using LFG. We gave you lookingforgroup which is a much better channel for you all.

Re: Unfair mute
If you're still using the wrong channels now, you deserve to be muted. You MUST have seen all the warnings people get every day. You know to use other channels. If everyone gets multiple warnings everytime then there's no harm to use world chat for the person saying stuff every now and again. You could say LFM ICC25 in world chat twice, get 2 warnings, and then get someone else from your raid to do it.
This is stupid. It's a 15 minute mute for using the wrong channel, which you know is the wrong channel, you've seen people get muted and warned every day and probably 30 seconds before you got muted yourself.
And Teal, I don't know if you're just a bad troll or stupid, whichever it is you have a severe problem with authority. You don't own the server, Roel does and the staff work for him. They make the rules, not you, not Hellraisers, not Horde, not whatever Guild you're in. The staff. Got a problem? Go find another server where you can do whatever you want in world chat.
Seriously, you get to play here for free and complain OMG THEY MAKE US USE BLIZZLIKE CHANNELS WTF? Grow up.

Why join the winning side if you can change the winner?
