can't connect due to fatal exception?
can't connect due to fatal exception?
so, I try to login, a box that I assume is terms and usage pops up for quite literally one second, closes, and I'm hit with a fatal exception error?
the error Reads:
Error #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\TrueWoW\Wow.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (Access_Violation) at 0023:0023:0087307D
The instruction at "0x0087307D" referenced memory at "0x0000002C"
The Memory could not be "Read"
Press OK to Terminate Application.
I click OK, because there is no other option, and it instantly closes out of the client.
any idea what's going on here?

I also found the following blue post:
Eloemaz wrote:03 Aug 2016 18:40Hello Melistra and Cupcakecandy,
Melistra- I saw we did receiver a error report from this crash. It does show the drivers for the video card are old. Please make sure to update them.
Cupcakecandy- We did not get a complete error report from this crash. To be on the safe side make sure the drivers for the video card are up to date.
If the driver updates do not stop the error 132 please try the steps below. If there is still trouble post a DXdiag and World of Warcraft error log.
• Run the World of Warcraft repair tool.
• Move the WTF, Cache and interface folders
1) Open the World of Warcraft folder.
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\
Mac: Open Finder, click Applications and select World of Warcraft.
2) Move the WTF, Cache and interface folders out of the World of Warcraft folder. If Curse client or WoWmatrix is installed they will need to be disabled or uninstalled to allow these files to be deleted.
3) Launch WoW. There may be a little bit of a delay as new versions of the files are installed.
• Run the computer in a selective startup mode.
• Please run World of Warcraft in 32-bit mode.
World of Warcraft error log
1) Open the Battle.net desktop app and click the Battle.net symbol, select Settings, then select Game Install/Update. You can view the game folders here.
2) In the World of Warcraft folder, find the Errors folder. If it does not exist, you do not have any error reports.
3) If the Errors folder exists, copy the newest .txt error report to your desktop. The error report creation date is included in the file name.
DxDiag:
1) Press Windows Key + R.
2) Type DxDiag and press Enter.
3) In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
4)Name the file "dxdiag" and click Save
5) Paste the DXdiag into the post, select and highlight everything you just pasted, and hit the "pre" button (It says "Code Blocks" when you hover your mouse over it). That'll make the information much more readable.
And this (similar to the others, but very dummy-friendly ):
I hope that helps you

Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
Open the actual error log file at your wow folder, does it show any other relevant information? This can be caused by lack of RAM to run the client.

Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
Do I need the actual game installed to play this server? Also, would you like the full crash report? I can track it down and copy/paste it here if need be.
Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
You can send me the crash log in a PM, I'll tell you if there's anything interesting saying there and paste it here if there is

Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
still trying to find a solution, not much I can think of though.
Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
Make sure you got your drivers right.
For AMD video cards go here.
For Intel go here.
For all Nvidia Video cards go here.
If all is OK, right click your wow.exe and change compability mode to another OS.
Let us know any progress, also a good idea to post the crash log for full debug.
You can paste it on hastebin for example.

Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
another thing, it's been a long while since I played a private server (2+ years) so I wanna make sure I remember how to do it right:
I go through the main game? Or do I make a sub-folder for the Private server? Like I said, it has been quite some time since I did so last... I doubt that's the problem, but I wanna make sure I'm not being a doof or anything.

Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
actually, now that I think on it... could it be because I got an error during the extracting process? It was one of the Patch.mpq files, I don't know which one. But I got an error on one of them while extracting it to the folder I specified.
Re: can't connect due to fatal exception?
Well, in that case you could check the integrity of those MPQ files.Buggerdejacks wrote: ↑20 Mar 2018 00:22actually, now that I think on it... could it be because I got an error during the extracting process? Hmm, this is an answer of mine on another topic:
Brennus wrote: ↑22 Jan 2018 00:11I would check is your WOW client integrity (if your MPQ files are exactly as they should).
It might take a while, but you make a checksum verification.
If you don't know how, use this tool, drag and drop any file, and paste in the "Verify Hash" field the checksum from the table below.
After it calculates, press Verify button and it will tell you if your file is OK.

Brennus wrote: ↑01 Dec 2016 07:12- Inside your WoW folder, go to "Data", then "enUS" (if you are using the American English version of the game).
There will be a file named "realmlist.wtf".
Does it have a line like one of the following?
orCode: Select all
set realmlist login.truewow.org
Code: Select all
set realmlist 178.33.234.49
