FPS DROP FOR NO REASON

#1 » Post by senseiD » 18 Nov 2017 07:53

Hello ppl, from like 2 3 days I`m noticing fps drops in game without any normal reason. My pc is x2 980ti`s 7700k 5GHz 16 G ram at 3.2Ghz and I`m runing the game from SSD. There is not game out there that will make this pc go down so bad on 1080 or 4K gaming .... The other issue is that it`s not only for me, I`ve been in dungeons with many people that claim the same at the same time that I have the issue. The other thing is that if we presume that this is a problem with my pc or other`s .... why it started 3 days ago .....
I`ve checked and double checked my drivers, GPU utilization, CPU and made several synthetic tests to see if my pc have any issues that may bring the fps drop, but no there are none..... Can anyone give any logyc reason or advise how to fix this cuz it`s a bit hard to play the game correctly with people in raid/dungeons and do shit when suddenly the games decides to go COMICS mode
TY in Advance.

Hello, it's either server side issue (which would be weird considering the hardware we have and amount of players) and that will undergo investigation. The option B is your side, clients were created for much worse PCs and they can't use it's resources fully, hereby I'd suggest using some kind of software able to extend the amount of ram you use.
There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things.

I understand that the client is made for older machines, but Im` here for more then 3 years now and never ever had such an issue ..... this leads me to the suggestion that it may be something going on with the server ..... and the fact that other ppl that I have talked with have same issues from the past week .... and they as well had never had this issue before ... HEAD SCRATCH.....

I havent seen this myself, nor have I heard others complaining. Like longi said, what you are describing sounds a lot like a bad add on. Try disabling them and see if that fixes your issue, then you can begin to isolate which one is the culprit. Good luck!

I had a similar problem, it was being caused by Quartz. Disabling it normalized my fps entirely.

It's probably a large number of interface errors causing the fps drop.

Try turning on "Show Interface/UI/Lua Errors" options and see if a lot of things pop up once you engage in a dungeon/raid/bg.

I cleared my cache and wtf folder, will check what happens with addons, BUT the interesting thing is that I use the same setup for a long long time .... nothing have changed on my side .... how can addons that had no issues before a week start to make problems now .... I dont get it ... Nothing has updated nothing has been moved or changed .... if something works for 1 year how it does not work now .....

Do you have Lua Errors report disabled?

OOOkay, now lets try to narrow it down to specific location in game. You mentioned dungeons. Is it only place where that happen or you get drops on other places too? Which dungeons? Also is it during combat or even when you are afk?

There is shittone of reasons why Wow might go berserk and right now if its not problem with your PC, then it might be with server, and to check is that true, we need more info.

No update from original poster in 3 weeks. Assuming resolved.
Welcome to the new decade! Let's hope the Roaring 20's come with just as much jazz, but a bit less prohibition and Great Depression. 8-)
