Hi. I'm trying to run WoW under Wine here and whenever I'm in a decently populated area (the npcs in undercity and orgimmar) my game instantly freeze up then crashes. I'm running Wine version 1.8 under Slackware. I have the game running in OpenGL mode and everything. I get an unstable 60 fps walking around in an empty area. I'm using the free catalyst video drivers instead of the proprietary one because it will no longer supports the version of Xorg I'm using until AMD releases their new "AMDGPU" drivers.

Re: WoW crashes with Access Violation Error in Wine
Well I have Mono and Directx already. Unless I need regular .NET instead?
Re: WoW crashes with Access Violation Error in Wine
can try adding SET M2UseShaders "0" to config.wtf or try just running directx mode.

Re: WoW crashes with Access Violation Error in Wine
Adding that line seems to have fixed it. DirectX seems like it may run better then OpenGL, which is weird on Linux. Anyways thanks a lot man. Cheers
