Unable to connect

#1 » Post by NotePad » 05 Nov 2015 10:42

Hey guys don't know if this problem has been solved yet. If so sorry about repeating the same post. Anyways:

I get my account linked, download the game, install the game, put in my login credentials and then i get a message saying "Unable to connect. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact technical support at : blizzard support site"

If i did something wrong in the downloading and or installing of truewow or even setting it up let me know!

Again sorry if this issue has come up before.

Thanks,

NotePad

It looks like you're so unlucky to try your first login when the server is down, you can see the status at the homepage. We're doing some maintenance and it should be back online any minute although it's taking a bit longer than expected.

You most likely have a bad config..check your conf and be sure it connects to login.truewow.org and be sure you are using your username to login(NOT the email)

So... I check that in World.of.Warcraft.3.3.5a.Truewow\Data\enUS and then open the file realmlist.wtf with notepad.... This is what it has in the folder:

set realmlist login.truewow.org

Is this the right folder or is it not.

And i do use my username Which is NotePad. Would that be the issue? Having my user name being the same as my forum user name?

username can be the same for forum/game
there might be a second .wtf file in some other folder..forgot the name

point is you are not reaching our game server..i checked..your client never connected to us.

Try to replace "set realmlist login.truewow.org" with what I sent you in the private message.

Hope it works out.

So i tried that replacement you sent me Justicelight but alas the problem still persists.

So i found the second .wtf file Prodigy and it's under: World.of.Warcraft.3.3.5a.Truewow\WTF

And it contains:

SET locale "enUS"
SET hwDetect "0"
SET gxRefresh "60"
SET gxMultisampleQuality "0.000000"
SET gxFixLag "0"
SET videoOptionsVersion "3"
SET movie "0"
SET Gamma "1.000000"
SET readTOS "1"
SET readEULA "1"
SET showToolsUI "1"
SET Sound_OutputDriverName "System Default"
SET Sound_MusicVolume "0.40000000596046"
SET Sound_AmbienceVolume "0.60000002384186"
SET farclip "777.000000"
SET specular "1"
SET groundEffectDensity "24"
SET projectedTextures "1"

Do i need to change any of it? or add anything to it?

Add these two in that list.

SET realmList "login.truewow.org"
SET realmName "TrueWoW"

Also do try to open Command Prompt and type

Code: Select all

Ping login.truewow.org
