Leatrix Latency Fix for Linux?

#1 » Post by solomon » 24 Oct 2015 23:06

I'm not sure if this will fix my latency problems, but I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out I can't get it to work, even with Wine.

Has anyone else ever come across this issue, or is it just me?

LLF is not needed on Linux due to different default setup in configuration.

AKA: Its not Windows. (WINE will not impact on global Linux config)

Okay. Well I'm getting close to 4000 ms on a dedicated LAN network. Could this just be a linux issue, or WOW? Or both?

I'm wondering if anyone else had/has this problem.

Well, there are several people that are playing WoW on Linux here and so far noone complained.
l would like you to answer me some questions:

Which Linux are you using?
Where are you (just country no need town or address, or at least tell contintent)?
Have you tried other servers before on same computer?
How much computers are on that LAN?

When in Terminal you type

Code: Select all

PING login.truewow.org -c 10
how much ms does it says?

100% loss!? WTF world record.
Go to pingtest.net and look at packet loss (you will need Java). If there is over 30% loss, then something is wrong with hardware or ISP.

EDIT forgot to ask, how much was ping on other servers?

Tested on a local server. got 164 ms and 6% packet loss.

I mean, i can use my browser just fine, its just Wow that i consistently have problems with.

Edit: i play a warmane server and it never goes below 100 ms.

68(88) bytes of data.

10 packets transmitted, 1 received 90% packet loss, time 9099ms

At this point I'm pretty sure its linux. I've also been having some serious CPU problems where it runs just fine for awhile and then lags to a total system freeze at complete random. I'll probably just switch back to windows.

Well, something is wrong for sure. Anyway if you want fast solution, then yea go back to Win (Win10 not recommended by me). If you want to play like me, install some other Linux ^_^ l like testing OSes. Recommending Linux Mint (Cinnamon).

He was online today so I guess this was fixed. Thanks for the help. :)
