Downtime

#1 » Post by Roel » 06 Nov 2016 08:45

We had some downtime because the database server decided to take a rest for unknown reasons. Because of some applied updates it can take another 30-60 minutes before all realms are back online. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So, "unable to connect" is caused by this downtime?

Thanks, but it's weird that the problem is not reflected by "Servers Status".

Was seeing the outsource-type IT messages about cannot connect to MySQL DB this morning... set the alarm two hours early so I could play in peace and avoid the scheduled server restart, now feeling very silly. I'm impressed that someone's minding things so early on a Sunday morning.

Question: why is it that http://www.truewow.org/status shows many people online but I get connection errors when I try to log into TrueWOW ?

Type: PvP all content unlocked
Rates: 1x
Status: Offline

Type: PvE progressive Vanilla to WotlK
Rates: 1x WotLK rates (current level cap 60)
Status: Offline

It's literally on the front page in bolded red font. I guess the list of players online is a cached one from when the server was last online.

Haha, I've obviously overlooked the obvious. My bookmark points to "My Dashboard" and I immediately went to "Server Status" when I coudn't connect ... I'm sure you will get it up running soon. BTW, you guys rock!

lol the server status info is indeed cached. It shows me as connected.... which I haven't been since MySQL went down.

Reminds me of the days before I retired from IT :) Very happy that there are younger and more energetic hands on things here.

On the upside I found a nice dagger for my rogue from the shop here.... something nice to do with all those points from voting :)

That was the TrueWoW realm.
I guess PrimalWoW will be up soon.

Big thank you for looking after the infrastructure on a Sunday morning!
