I have a Blood Elf Paladin I've played since the middle of Burning Crusade many years ago. I want to retail transfer a copy to the primal wow servers for the Burning Crusade launch - but I want to stay horde.
Do I need to wait until May 3rd for Blood Elves to be live, or would a retail transfer now come with a faction change?

If you wish to stay as a horde, then you'd have to wait indeed. Else if you do submit the transfer request, you would be automatically given an alliance-character with the choice of choosing race by yourself on the first login.
