Cross-Faction BG bugs?
Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
You can no longer obtain other side's achievements in battlegrounds.
I do want them to award their counterpart (i.e. completing Horde 'Not in my House' as Alliance would give Alliance version for 'Not in my House'). That will be on hold for now.

As there was some confusion. It's when the next update hits that they will be unobtainable.Gnurg wrote:You can no longer obtain other side's achievements in battlegrounds.

All wrongly awarded achievements will be removed on the same update.
Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
^ Will be implemented on next update. There's no block mechanism once a battleground has started. If 5 people queue, it will be 3v2 instead of 2v2 + 1 in queue.
Horde players who end up with fake-race might get a small surprise. I still lack model ids for almost all the races, so I can't enable other fake-races, even if the code is ready.
They should work with the MPQ provided here: http://modcraft.superparanoid.de/viewto ... 93&t=10800. Try moprhing as various races, if it looks like a monster or keep your original race's skin texture, it's bad. It's easy to tell if you're using a draenei and morph to something else, as your skin will be blue.

Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
If horde fightes for alliance, they can't be /w'd by hordes anymore.
I suppose they can /w alliances and alliances can /w them in this scenario (outside BG)

Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
That's only for the duration of their participation in the BG.
As soon as you leave, you can whisper players of your own faction as well as receive whispers from them.
You can still talk to said players if they are in the same party as you (before they joined the BG) or the same guild, etc.
Considering the BG temporarily treats one as a member of the opposing faction, the system is following the normal behavior of not being able to whisper members of the opposing faction, since cross-faction whispering isn't a thing here anyway.
So yeah, if you're horde and you're on alliance team, you will be treated as alliance and thus you're subject to the rule of only being able to whisper other alliance players until you leave the BG. Situation also applies in vice versa.

https://truewow.org/bugs/view.php?id=5054 - Rogues are unstealthing at random in BG
Is this something that got introduced with cross-faction battlegrounds? Druids and rogues, please confirm.

Only seen it since cross-Faction battlegrounds started

The report is titled random, but in the description it says when the rogue tries to cast a spell and the target isn't within range (failed cast shouldn't break stealth). Which one is it? Random or cast failure?
Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
i think its random when it happens
Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
I could not reproduce the rogue/druid stealth problem locally. I tried to attack from range, where it only gave me 'target not in range' and kept me in stealth. Are you sure that someone didn't cast any spell on you to break your stealth?
Re: Cross-Faction BG bugs?
Role-balancing will be enabled from next update, where there are four roles: healer, support, ranged damage and melee damage. Your role is determined by your talent tree specialisation.
It is most effective if people accept the queue as quickly as possible, as it's based on the players inside the battleground and not the players who have a pending invite. It can be countered by requiring more people to start a battleground, but for now, I encourage you to accept the invitation right away.
In the event that it would crash the server (hard to throughout test such a system them by yourself locally), cross-faction disables itself until it is manually turned on again. Just to ensure that no one is bothered by unforeseen bugs.
I'll consider bringing item level into consideration as well, but we'll see how well class-balance works by itself first.
