Primalwow - PvP Revamp - Looking Forward

PvP Gear System Revamp

Its time to fight for your faction!

Due to the obsolescence of PvP gear with the release of Naxxramas and the impending release of The Burning Crusade we have lowered the costs of PvP gear to encourage activity in both Battlegrounds and Arenas. There is a noticeable increase in activity just one day after the new prices were released!

We have left Weapons behind an Arena rating namely because we wish to recognize and reward those players who have sunk many hours into Arenas with the hopes of one day wielding these items. The reduced rating should still be accessible for those who wish to acquire these items as well.

PvP Goals and the Future

We recognize we haven't been supporting PvP on TrueWoW or PrimalWoW as we would have liked to so far. We are aiming to address that in the future with a more iterative approach to the PvP gearing system.

We will be publishing details on a pricing Model for TBC PvP gear when we're a bit closer, but I'd like to share some of our plans now. Note that this information will be subject to design changes.

PrimalWoW's TBC Arena Seasons will have 6 Month duration which we intend to have parity with PvE raid releases as well. With this in mind we also want to have a clear gear progression path for players who are primarily interested in the PvP portion of the game that also matches the PvE environment and style of content release.

Our intent for PvP gear is to release at a high price and become reduced throughout the season. This will result in gear becoming more and more accessible. For example: Merciless Gladiator's Bonegrinder releases at 3000 Arena points, 2350 Rating requirement. Two months into the season the price is reduced to 2250 Arena Points, 2000 Arena Rating Requirement. Four months into the Season the price is reduced to 1500 Arena Points, 1850 Rating Requirement. At six months, Arena Rating requirement would be stripped and price would be changed to require Honor as it would be the same time the Vengeful Arena Season begins.

Note again that this is all subject to change and is just some insight to what we're discussing internally.

Thaddius Released

We are proud to release Thaddius this week which brings us up to thirteen of fifteen bosses in Naxxramas Release. Good luck to those raiders who wish to vanquish the Scourge from the face of Azeroth!

As we draw closer to the Burning Crusade we are in need of more content testing for a smooth release. We're always looking for more people to help report issues to the bug tracker or even join the testing team for future releases. We are also looking for developers interested in assisting us with upcoming projects such as The Burning Crusade Release and our new Stormhold 3.3.5 WotLK realm.

You can find the Bugtracker here: http://www.truewow.org/bugs/login_page.php
You can read about becoming a tester here: http://www.truewow.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=33499

Thank you to all who contributed and continue to contribute to our content releases.

The Dread Citadel Awaits!

Probably greatest thing that could have happened to the dead pvp scene here, gj. I don't remember so many bg pops since the early primal times when pop was getting to 500+

This announcement should be re-titled as "[Primal Wow] PvP Revamp" by the way.

pretty much like in cataclysm, i think you guys should fully adopt that system, maybe with a few minor tweaks such as slightly better stats on elite gear too not only on weapons

EDIT: and i mean fking SLIGHTLY, maybe something like 5% or 10% better stats

Great changes, wouldn't this increase the desire to win trade for people?. That seems to be the only problem when things have a "rating" to buy.

We actively police for win trading. Players caught will have rewards stripped and rating reset.
