Blacklustersoldier wrote:well they got about 20 people on the staff, they could've tested it as a GM team, instead of hoping for "testers" to go on PTR to test shit... cause we all know people don't go there to test anything besides their BiS build and how to gem/enchant, and to do duels...

so imo, I am very thankful for those who looked for buggs to exploit them, because it means nobody will be able to exploit those bugs, and maybe the raid will be in full working way in the future
GMs aren't here to test anything. It's not their responsibility to test anything. They're here to assist players and solve issues. Whenever they ever test anything they do so out of their grace and good will on their free time when they don't have anything to do as GMs.

Testers, too, aren't obliged to test things. They don't hold any responsibility with us. HOWEVER, getting content released is not only OUR interest, but mutual from both players and staff, so I don't see why they wouldn't cooperate by assuring things are working so it can be released.

About this case in special, it's not even fault of lack of testing, but, the bug that had been abused was around since ever. None cared to report it. But hey, who cared to say anything about Putricide when his oozes were broken? Who bothered to report that taunting bosses could make any encounter defunct? None. Because often things that are convenient to players don't get reported.

Seeing a post like this is rather sad, because it shows that you have no ideas of how we've been working, and it sounds like a whine when in fact, you seem to have a very, very limited view of how we've been working.

Not to say that in fact this had been tested by GMs. Not only, but it was Iniyam who came forth with this bug. Unfortunately, it was just way too obfuscated for it to be noticed while they were testing. Hell, it took me an entire evening to reproduce it. But then again, only 10 minutes after I figured what was causing it to fix it and get Ruby Sanctum back on track.

In short, it's much of team work. There's always lots of work to do, so we share it. Everyone is doing their best at what they know, you got GMs assisting players, developers fixing bugs, testers testing things.

I am not thankful for anyone that exploits any bug AND DOES NOT REPORT IT. They're nothing but abusers, and they don't deserve anything they've earned by their abuse. They don't help anyone but themselves and it's extremely unfair to everyone else that innocently or because they don't want to be tagged as abusers don't fall into such means to the given ends.

I was being sarcastic with the "oh let's abuse everything we can cause GMs didn't test it" :S

But yeah I agree with what you said but sadly it's how things go for some people. It's easier to achieve what they want by bug abusing instead of having it fixed and do it properly. :/

And Luster you don't need to be a tester or a GM to notice a bug and report it instead of bug abusing it. Not saying you are doing this but its what people do in general to obtain everything so easy.

I know you're working hard nyeriah, but can the same be said about others? I'm not trying to point fingers.. but there are a few who are on the staff team and do nothing, or have been doing nothing ever since they earned that status (and this coming from a player who is looking what those people do in public, because what's done behind the curtains can't be confirmed without proof)... anyway I don't wanna go off topic, but my point is... if you really want something to be reported, it has to be people on the staff who do it, because often players will prefer to bug abuse it for unfair advantage, exactly like you said.

there are very few people who report their positive bugs (if any), that make it easier for them as a class or group... but everyone will report negative bugs that make it harder, or that makes a class have more advantage over them....

anyway I still went offtopic and I applogise

I hope RS hc gets fixed at your earliest convenience (whenever you can, I hope I used that expression correcytly) and that it will be the way it should be

4) Front Cone of breathe is wide enough. (Please give it a check again)

Combustion and cutters happen 3-5 sec earlier than DBM timers. Also after you get the Soul Consumption after 2-3 sec you get the cutters in twilight realm making the fight challenging and there should be a timer between these two since it's hard for the player marked to run and watch for the cutters also when getting dispelled.

Also meteor strike was cast right at 50% when boss entered phase 3 so it just landed exactly when we took the portal to go outside and I am sure that also has a timer on cast....

As for the breath the cone of it is really wide that if you aren't careful enough and stand anywhere where her throat begins you will get hit by the breath but this needs to be tested out more.
