I completed the quest by opening the chest and taking the green item from inside, but the game seems to think I equipped the green reward and failed the challenge?!?!

I just tested the quest, just looting the object did not fail the challenge, but I did fail by clicking on it and equiping it.

I guess thats me done then, unless appeal?

I tested twice with the same result. Good luck with your next attempt, I have done the same thing too

Hoping for a restoration. I was fighting Takoke John on the Missing Diplomat quest. It was getting close... I subdued him, his poison faded, and I had 6 hit points left! Then: I died. Oh yeah, this is on my character "Sealegs". I say I'm hoping that your log is better than mine because my log doesn't jive with what actually happened. I completed the quest and the poison dissipated BEFORE I died.

Fact remains you still died. Your level must have been too low to defeat him before the poison faded.

Actually, I didn't die because I was too low, or didn't know what I was doing. I died because the game bugged. I was very much alive and reveling in my victory and the close call when I bit the dust. It appeared that the dissipated poision took an extra tick after it was dispersed

Seems like an easy to verify bug and if it is a bug then it was the server's fault for the death.

If you aren't going to restore for server bugs then what's the point in doing it?

I tested the quest, it works as intended. I understand what you are saying, that the poison faded from you before you died but did it fade from your pet? and the tick was only 6 nature damage, your health must have been very low to die from this damage. If the pet still had poison on it, then you would have been affected also. Appeal declined.

Well, I wasn't going to bring that up (separate issue), but my pet wasn't involved in the fight at all. He got hung up inside the inn, perhaps, but I couldn't even use his sacrifice spell. When I tried to use it and it failed, I did the quick summon, but same result. Some guildies were saying that on some fights you don't get help from your pet, I figured this was one of those. In any case, if he wasn't in the fight I'm not buying that he caused the death. OTOH, I have no idea what was the nature of the poison. I've completed this quest 50+ times with no problems whatsoever. That was part of what made it so surprising and dismaying. And yes, I was very low at the end. My log said I had 6 left and was hit for 12 (6 overkill). I was actually in the middle of relating my success on guild chat when I died.
