Resto Shaman - What do we need to know?
Resto Shaman - What do we need to know?
Trying to pick a healer for my main. I was curious about shaman - have always played Alliance, but would love to know the state of the spec on here due to lack of Earth Shield, Riptide, and various other skills that were quite powerful at lvl80.
How is their mana regen with Water Shield and Mana Spring?
Is Chain Heal scaling decently or are other Druids and Priests the best choice for raid healing?
Are they going for crit, or just stacking all the mp5 they can find?
Is Healing Stream Totem scaling at all, or nerfed to pointlessness?
Would be happy to edit this topic if we want to start a guide thread, or delete it to keep the forum clean if someone else wants to run such a guide.

Re: Resto Shaman - What do we need to know?
Chain heal is always great. Water shield and mana spring are superb. I'm looking at stacking crit for endgame with Improved water shield proc.

Healing Steam:
I'm a fresh 60, so I cant really speak to the raiding scene, but during the leveling process Healing Steam totem was only useful in groups where we had multiple people taking damage (warlock lifetaping, melees taking cleaves, etc).

Mana spring is far better stack critical strike for imp watershield and spec into imp shields.
Re: Resto Shaman - What do we need to know?
I'd like to see a shaman theorycrafter step onto the scene.
I've a feeling going the mp5 route is still going to be stronger than stacking crit, due to the inability to down rank heals.
This might change come AQ or Naxx gear levels, but I highly doubt enough crit exists to make a resto shaman self sustainable for long fights with the current gear available to us.
Those dragonscale sets are just so strong with all their mp5. Amazing set bonuses for such easily obtainable BoE craftable gear.

Re: Resto Shaman - What do we need to know?
Wrong. Mp5 stacking is way way better. There are a bunch of 7-8-9 min fights in MC in which the crit stacking rsham will not be able to heal when needed, especially Rag.landgin wrote:Mana spring is far better stack critical strike for imp watershield and spec into imp shields.

I'm not wrong he said healing spring. I never once devalued mana/5.

My attempt at creating a BIS list. Includes both PvP and PvE items for all specs
