Rogue Macros

#1 » Post by Floss » 25 Nov 2017 09:45

Credits to what used to be called RogueRogue.com - a Site that i used to browse alot 8 years ago and is now closed.

This is suitable for both realms (TW & PW).

Although there are numerous macros available, a majority of them really aren’t worth bothering with and we have excluded them for that reason. While some of these macro’s may already be familiar to you, I encourage you to experiment with the others listed. Especially if you are looking to improve your PvP performance. They are suited for players of all skill levels so don’t be afraid to use them.

A lot of these macros can be used as substitutes for your current abilities, and because of that I recommend using the same icon to not confuse yourself at first. (Example: For Improved Vanish use the same macro icon for Vanish.)

Tricks of the Trade – Focus

#showtooltip Tricks of the Trade
/cast [target=focus, help] Tricks of the Trade

This macro allows for you cast Tricks of the Trade on your current focus target, (MT for example) to cast it on them without directly targeting them and losing valuable white damage auto attacks.

Tricks of the Trade – Certain Player

/cast [target=insertplayernamehere] Tricks of the Trade

This macro enables you to always cast Tricks of the Trade on a specific player without having to use your focus, thus making it more useful in PvP situations where your focus target is better off being one of your opponents. Keep in mind you can make multiple macros like this for each teammate in case you need to tricks them in certain situations.

Focus Blind

/clearfocus [modifier][target=focus,dead][target=focus,help][target=focus,noexists]
/cast [target=focus,exists] Blind
/focus [target=focus,noexists]

Hitting this macro the first time will set your current target as your focus assuming you have not focus. Pressing it a second time will blind your focused target.

Start Autoattack Automatically Before Casting Special

/startattack
/cast Hemorrhage(Rank 4)

Great for those times when you recently just switched targets and currently don’t have enough energy to perform a Hemo, Mutilate, Backstab etc. Instead of just standing there during those 2-3 seconds, this will automatically turn on your autoattack without toggle-ing it on and off, so you can hopefully get 1 or 2 poison procs in the meantime – as well as the white damage with no downside. Simply replace your Hemo (or whatever main special you use) with this macro.

Super Preparation

#show preparation
/cast shadowstep
/cast sprint
/cast [nostealth] Evasion
/cast Preparation

The macro that blows all of your unused cooldowns before you Prep. There is no disadvantage to this since once you Prep these cooldowns are lost anyways, so why not use them? Don’t worry about Evasion either since it won’t cast unless you are out of stealth. However, be careful not to hit this twice, as you will blow your second set of cooldowns. I was a bit weary of this macro at first, but then realized I didn’t mash my Prep button anyways, and it really comes in handy if you’re in a hurry to get to that second Sprint/Vanish etc.

Improved Vanish

#show Vanish
/stopattack
/cast vanish

This macro will simply turn off your auto attack before you Vanish. Accidentally autoattacking yourself out of stealth is just as much the culprit of a broken Vanish as your enemy hitting you themselves. Besides, we all know how “perfectly” Vanish works, so it can take all the help it can get. After using this, I saw a noticeable improvement on Vanish’s reliability.

Sap Nearest Stealth Target

#show sap
/cleartarget
/targetenemy
/cast sap

or

#showtooltip Sap
/console targetNearestDistance 10.000000
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/console targetNearestDistance 14.000000
/cast [harm,nodead] Sap

Spamming this macro will automatically target the nearest enemy, and bring priority to the target that is in Stealth. This really helps when trying to sap a target and a Rogue is nearby, prioritizing the Rogue during that split second decision, and greatly lowering your chances of being Sapped first. If there isn’t a Stealth target it will still Sap your current target like normal.

If you don’t want this macro to target pets, change “targetenemy” to “targetenemyplayer”.

Premed Cheap Shot / Garrote

#show premeditation
/stopattack
/cast Premeditation
/cast Cheap Shot

————————————

#show premeditation
/cast Premeditation
/cast Garrote

This macro will cast Premeditation every time the cooldown is up before you open with a Cheap Shot/Garrote. It eliminates the hassle of manually casting Premed before you open and frees up another bind that you can use for something else. As a note, these are two separate macros, one for Cheap Shot and one for Garrote.

Cold Blood Mutilate

/cast Cold Blood
/cast Eviscerate

This macro will perform eviscerate instantly when you cold blood. If your spec doesn’t use eviscerate, you can change this to envenom or mutilate to get the same results.

Deadly Throw Macro

/cast Deadly Throw
/cast Throw

This macro will use Deadly Throw anytime you have combo points. If none are available, it will use your Throw ability instead. Great macro for freeing up another bind.

Weapon Swap Macro

/equipslot 17 Merciless Gladiator’s Shiv

Equips a weapon to your Offhand. Replace the name of the weapon with the one you wish to equip. We use this macro for each of our offhands that we will be switching out in arena games – where we toggle our offhands between Crippling Poison and Mind Numbing poison for quick Shivs on the target. While there are macros that simply toggle between the two, we have yet to find one that is as reliable as making one different keybind for each weapon.

Mouseover Blind

/cast [target=mouseover] Blind
/focus [target=mouseover]
/stopmacro [target=focus, noharm]
/p %f has been blinded. DO NOT TOUCH!

This macro allows you to Blind any target within range by simply hovering your mouse cursor over them and hitting the macro, thus avoiding switching targets and losing valuable time in Arena. It has an added macro line that indicates who has been Blinded in party chat, but you can choose to remove this if you’d like.

Mashable Stealth

/cast [stance:0] Stealth

While Rogues became a lot less reliant on this macro after the addition of Secure Ability Toggle in the interface menu, this will allow you to spam your Stealth button without worrying that you will click it too many times and bring yourself out of Stealth.

Kick / Arcane Torrent (Blood Elf)

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10 Kick, Arcane Torrent

This macro will cast Kick or Arcane Torrent when Kick is on cooldown. It will reset every 10 seconds to prevent using Arcane Torrent unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Shadowdance, Equip Dagger, Swap Back

This set of macros is for swapping to a dagger for hemo-shadowdance specs, to ambush during the dance. The second macro will switch you back.

#showtooltip Shadow Dance
/equipslot 16 NAME OF DAGGER
/cast Shadow Dance
/swapactionbar 2

part 2

#showtooltip Hemorrhage(Rank 5)
/equipslot 16 NAME OF WEAPON
/cast Hemorrhage(Rank 5)
/startattack

Focus Kick, other Focus Macros

This macro is used to kick your focus target without having to manually target them.

#showtooltip Kick
/cast [nomod] Kick
/cast [mod:ctrl, target=focus] Kick

Dismantle

#show Dismantle
/cast [target=focus] Dismantle

Cancel Hand of Protection

This will end the effect of hand of protection if you play with a paladin.

/cancelaura Hand of Protection

Rocket Gloves

/use 10

Add that line to any dps macro (like the cold blood macro) to the line before it to automatically cast rocket gloves when you use the ability.

other item slots that may come in handy include

/use 8 – use your boots

/use 13 – trinket slot 1

/use 14 – trinket slot 2
