shadowmeld + eating drinking

#1 » Post by diawowwrath » 11 Apr 2016 15:43

I was used to the ability to go down for a drink/eat and hit shadowmeld. That doesn't work here as shadow meld makes me stand. Major loss for when I do BGs. Is that a mechanic of WOTLK or a bug? I searched forums and did not see info on this.

It's a mechanic of WotLK and thus working as intended.
It allows you to instantly leave combat in PvP to eat, drink or mount up. The tradeoff is that it no longer remains active if you start eating / drinking after using it. It's been like this since the beginning of the WotLK expansion.

Oh ok. Well that's a fair trade off. I could live with that.

Dropping combat also resets the cooldown for potions. For raiding, be sure to mana pot before you use shadowmeld

This was fixed a long time ago except on a few encounters (at least on TrueWoW in ICC). Shadowmeld gets you out of combat, but not "out of enconter", and the potion cooldown doesn't start again.

But shoudn't that be doable? As if you look at retail guides f.e rogues.. their guide for maximise dps is to use vanish one time and the other time to just shadowmeld to use haste potions. And i guess the feign death doesn't get you 'out of the encounter' aswell nowadays ?
