Better than the Horror 1 hitting the group it aggro'd too. The Lich King can be taunted back quickly.

Bluebell wrote:Paladins are unique in the tanking department. With Sacred shield being constantly up, high spell mitigation and 100% avoidance, they can easily reduce the damage and are especially suited to ICC where spell damage is a major factor. As well as the fact hey can block, something overlooked yet a major thing that only Paladins and Warriors can successfully do, allowing them not only to avoid a lot of attacks but also reduce the damage of those that do hit.
Being able to get to 100% with block is not 100% avoidance. Avoidance refers to avoiding the hit all together. You are reaching 100% mitigation rather. :D

Block still builds towards the avoidance cap of 102%

Block is not avoidance its mitigation.

Learning what you talk about helps prove things.

"The fact that a Block may only mitigate damage partly"

102.4% is the avoidance cap.
It is when your cumulative Dodge, Parry and Block + 5% Boss miss equal or exceed 102.4%. You are now un-hittable. You will at least block a melee attack, and can avoid all white attacks.

"The fact that a Block may only mitigate damage partly"

The fact that a Block may only mitigate damage partly—which means the enemy's attack speed and damage per attack becomes a factor—and the fact that the talents increasing Block chance cannot reliably be active at all times, makes it harder to calculate the actual benefit of Block in comparison to other damage mitigation mechanics, such as armor or chance to get missed.

102.4% is avoidance and/or mitigation cap. The fact still stands that Block is a Mitigation stat not an Avoidance stat. I feel like the word Avoidance should define itself but Google defines it as "deliberately avoiding; keeping away from or preventing from happening." while Mitigation is defined as "The action of reducing the severity, seriousness, or painfulness of something."

Quoting an incorrect statement from someone else does not show you to be right... Please read the edit to my earlier post.

Mitigation is the reduction of attack effectiveness. Types of melee and magical spell mitigation are absorb, armor, block, defense, resilience and resistance.
Not to be confused with avoidance, which includes such stats as dodge, miss and parry.

The crucial difference between the two being that an attack that is mitigated still does damage to the player, however an avoided attack deals no damage.

I quoted WoW Wiki, the same source as you.

Also, editing your post AFTER mine and then quoting what you edited my post in reply to me is very stupid, lol.

I also quoted the dictionary. The words have very simple definitions.

The definitions in the dictionary don't necessarily go with their WoW usage.
