Avenger's Shield not silencing?

#1 » Post by Greyman » 10 May 2015 11:52

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I could have sworn that Avenger's Shield in WoTLK used to silence (instead of daze, which it does on TW). Pulling casters definitely feels different to how I remember with a prot paladin. Is this a known issue, or am I just going mental?

did you spec it far enough in shield of templar? each point gives 33% extra chance for the avenger shield to silence the target :) 3/3 will give it a 100% silence chance.

I've experienced the issue with a number of caster mobs in heroics and out in the world. The most recent examples are:

1. Dark Rune Elementalists in Halls of Stone
2. Drakkari Water Binder in Zul'Drak
3. Anub'ar Shadowcaster in Azjol-Nerub

In all cases the effect was the same - they'd stand there looking dumbfounded (daze effect in mob debuff bar) instead of running in and beating on my plate-encrusted ass. I'll admit that it's been many years, but my distinct recollection was that the silence was a quick and easy way to group up caster mobs as a pally tank. Have I misremembered?

As they have dazed effect means it didn't miss. tbh i've occured the same things in same mobs. i never bothered reporting it since i've played here since the olden days and some people told me paladin interupts, silences didn't work like they should. While i've played on some other woltk server, paladin stun/silence did interupt mobs, bosses(didn't stun them ofc). On Tw this isn't the case :p

Well, in a final desperate measure I dropped all of my talent points and re-created the spec from scratch, exactly the same as before. Now everything's working as expected. Booyah.
