Constant disconnects on Primalwow

#1 » Post by xyzfr » 21 Dec 2017 17:28

Greeting,

I am constantly disconnected on the Primalwow server after a few seconds.
This happens when I run wow.exe in "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" compatibility mode

I specify that I do not have this problem of disconnection on Truewow as well as all the other servers but only on Primalwow.

I use this compatibility mode since I installed Windows 10 because I set as default format (audio) in 24 bits, 192000 Hz and this produces crackles of the sound (crackling sound ?) for WoW. (Something that does not happen with lower quality settings, 96000 Hz etc.. no problem).

PS: I hope this is understandable because it is translated with Google translation.

Cordially.

Are you using the 3.3.5a WoTLK client with our realmlist?
Both of our realms uses the same realmlist and client.
set realmlist login.truewow.org

Well since it's a specific realm, could be game related.
Try moving the wtf folder somewhere else or just temponarly rename it, i.e `old_wtf`.

Delete the cache folder with it, although it shouldn't matter much.

I have been rolling with W10 since it was released and I have never had any problems at all. I am not saying that W10 isn't the problem in this case, but I don't know why it would be.

Constant disconnects on Primalwow

#11 » Post by xyzfr » 13 Jan 2018 17:50

Hello,

My precedent report isn't resolved.

viewtopic.php?f=89&t=38761

This problem is specific to this server only.

I have no problem on 3 others servers. But on Primalwow, i am disconnected after around 10 secondes if i launch wow.exe with "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" compatibility mode. (I use Windows 10 64 bits since 2 months)

This compatibility mode (Windows XP etc) remove my sound problem (crackling) in 24 bits, 192000 Hz on my system windows 10.

On Truewow : works fine.
On Primalwow : not good.

Sorry for my english but you know that. If you don't understand or need more informations, i can take screenshot about my configuration (compatibility mode, where i change the quality for the sounds, etc). All my drivers are up to date.

Are you using any add ons for your PW characters that are disabled for your TW ones? You could try disabling all add ons, see if the problem persists, and if it doesn't you could then figure out which one is the culprit.

Also, have you confirmed that this happens to multiple characters in different locations in-game? I could see a corrupted game file that involves TBC content causing this.

On Primalwow, the problem is the same when I delete folders: Cache, Interface & WTF
Even when I created a Level 1 character, this happens too.
This happens everywhere.

Out of curiosity, I tested on the Public Realm Test server: No disconnection.

I have merged the two threads.
Please note that a weeks inactivity lays in our codex to mark as resolved and archive, more information at the link below.

As for your issue, it sounds very odd as its to a specific realm and for your experience only.
Have you tried installing a new instance of the game, just incase?

Yes. The problem is still present even with a new installation of the game.

I notice that the problem occurs with the selection of the character too.

After 10-15 secondes :
