Seen as this is a bit of a rez exscuse me, but hey, i knew there was a topic about guild wars 2 already open so i thought id post some screenies and some thoughts on how the beta went for me :).

This is my norn mesmer, riverty, i leveled her to level 18, and i've played 2 beta events which means i have played it for like idk, maybe few hours and damn its great.

To begin i would like to say that this game ovbiously makes you work alot more than in wow due to it making you feel as if your controlling a RPG char, and not 1 section of a holy trinity (healer dps and tank) Each class (profession) has its own flavour but unlike wow you have a skill set which will let's you worry about your own aggro, hp and dps.

My experince with mesmer has shown me that i have lot's to learn and the combat for me personally feels alot more engaging, and difficult.

I did the solo campign thingy (a campign that revolves around your own charecter background that you specified at the beginning) up to around level 15? It was awesome because team members could come in and out and they would fit in quite nicely with the difficulty of the solo campign.

The dynamic questing is sweet, so many people ask me about it, its very fun and rewarding, the harder you work the better rewards you will get at the end and unlike other MMO's that have tried it (see rift) the quests have many many different ranges of types. whats nice is that there are several options, 4-6 different kinds of goals to do in a quest, that add to a common goal.

What set this game apart for me was the WvWvW (world vs world vs world) or 3 realms competing for points in other words. Theres normal pvp modes like in wow which incompass capture the flag, or capture locations, or even death matches, but the whole scale of 3 servers competing is so immense that everytime i joined the thing new things would jump out on me, it melds PvE aspect into it quite nicely too. The whole situation is that your realm is assigned a colour, which in turn then has its own supply borderland which supplies the war effort for the main battleground in the middle. This middle houses all the buildings which when captured and held will give your team points, it is these points which tally up to making your server win over several weeks. The winners then go on to face other winning servers, which then get rewarded for their efforts. These rewards bleed over to the questing you would do in real world (for example, more gold from drops or exp/crafting chance). The whole feel of siegeing and defending a castle or a supply camp is so exicting, it means that small groups can sneakly attempt a take over, or larger groups bash into front gate and take the place by storm.

It was a oh shi- moment because one minute we were fighting a huge wave of red people then we all turned our attention to this massive spirit that came to attack both sides and the supply camp. It was amazing. this was a dynamic event within the PVP world.
