One Art

#1 » Post by Nyeriah » 27 Oct 2015 00:40

The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother’s watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.

—Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing’s not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

there was one little gnone
he wanted be a strong warrior
so, he left his home
but his dream will not become true anymore

one day he met a troll
that horde shaman his life stole
it was quick and bloody
there is one dead body

in the moment horde casted that spell
there was heard death bell
little gnone is dead
and thats all, the end

There once was a man so cool,
So imposing, made all girls drool,
He was the most popular guy in school,
His eyes shining brighter than an Eye of Zul,
But then was found out he bathed in a bloody pool
From this point all thought he was a fool,
His life had now turned horribly cruel
He slowly turned into a ghoul,
From that day on he was known as Roel

yes i maked this myself pls no copyrite infiringement

Hello,

I wasn't really planning to reply to this thread, but somehow I feel like I just dropped a message and left it unadorned.

This poem was showed to me by a friend many years ago and ever since then I have carried it along with me. You know, one of these few things in life that you keep record of. Whenever I've lost something or I'm about to lose something I just travel back to this and realize, that from so many other things that I have lost -- people, places, moments -- nothing will really bring any disaster.

It's just the nature of things, they're here for a moment and then at the next instant they're gone, and there isn't anything that can be done about it, we just learn to move on. Somehow it's comforting to think that even if we give something up, or lose something, it won't be the first, nor the last, and there are lots of life ahead of us to be lived. Indeed with time this concept becomes easier to grasp.

When I posted this thread I had just decided to abandon a project I have spent, if we count just this server and the last, over 4 years of my life on. Now I know that this doesn't mean anything to you or anyone but it means a lot to me. Because nothing really is as it used to be, and somehow I feel like I've gone so far but really failed to accomplish anything.

I've chosen to spend time with work instead of actually spending it with people; people who are now long gone and out of reach. And then when I look around most of the things I see are toxic and harmful - as can be seen in the first replies to this very thread - so I kind of don't know where things went wrong, perhaps I'm just wrong for expecting things to be different, but I just wished they weren't the way currently are. Thankfully, there are still people I hold myself on to and put my hopes on. They're the reason why I haven't disappeared completely when everything collapsed and still log every day.

Anyway, this is too long and too intimate, and perhaps it was a bad idea to be so intimate at public forums. I should have expected that most people wouldn't be able to understand the reason why I was posting this, even so because I wasn't really very conclusive. It's just that here we are a small community where pretty much knows each other, so I somehow felt safe to share it, for some reason. But eventually I guess I should just keep things to myself next time I go through an emotional wreck up.

Regards.
