There is a little luck, but you can minimize it so much it becomes irrelevant. Knowing how to build your deck, a good curve and what's left in deck is important. Also playing around enemy cards which are not that hard to predict once you see type of deck they're playing.

The reason I actually love hearthstone is that it's the most consistent card game out there. Between the lovely mulligan system, no lands screwing you over, the hero power always giving you an option, 30 card decks its fantastic.

If you think it's too luck based you need to stop playing inconsistent decks that can't win without making a 40/40 lightspawn with 6 cards.

The only tcg i play now is hearthstone but im going to disagree with this.
The huge ammount of luck based cards (Bomber, Brawl, Arc Missiles etc etc...) is enough to make it far from the most solid tcg.

The thing about most of these cards with RNG effects though in hearthstone is how much you can manipulate them to be extremely likely to be positive.

Bomber at worst is a 3/2 and has 70% chance of killing a one health minion, even if it misses it still has excellent stats, and of course in constructed you would only play it with a deck with tons of your own minions to enrage, making it even better.

With brawl it tends to not matter what survives since you always use it as a board clear, particularly against an aggro deck where all minions your facing are 1 or 2 drops. And as for arcane missiles, you'd have to be incredibly unlucky for it to hit the face 3 times, and even if it doesn't kill a minion you can still finish it off with a hero power.

If you play a consistent deck, over time good decision making will outweigh losing a few games through getting the worst case scenario. I mean look at decks like handlock, in 100s of games vs that deck I've almost never seen a game where they don't manage to play giants or twilight drakes.

focused on ranked only one day for three hours, got to rank 13 then back to 14
other than that i just do daily quests in arena mostly

I'm playing way less now. Got to rank 14 in the 1st 5-6 days of this month, then stopped
