Locus's PvE specs

#1 » Post by Locus » 29 Oct 2011 20:54

I am bored so I decided to post the specs I like and think are the best. Note: I think I remember them correctly but I could (and probably did) make mistakes.

Paladin heals
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin ... K0i,,12213

Paladin dps
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin ... 3l1,,12213
uses Seal of Righteousness for single target dps.

Paladin tank
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin ... t14,,12213
Note to certain paladin: Touched by the Light gives much more aggro than Reckoning (whose aggro improvement is negligible) since Righteous Fury increases the aggro generation of holy damage, and holy damage is affected by SP.

Priest Holy spec
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?priest# ... bUd,,12213
I used this one, I think. Though it can change depending on the spells you use. I didn't use Greater Heal much.

Priest dps spec
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?priest# ... I1E,,12213

Rogue dps assa spec

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?rogue#3 ... 701,,12213

DK blood tank spec
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?deathkn ... Vfb,,12213
The talents on the unholy tree can be moved (including Mordibity if you are a single target tank)

Mage arcane dps

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?mage#vH ... r6H,,12213
Values haste a lot.

Resto shaman
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?shaman# ... Kp9,,12213

Enhancement Shaman

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?shaman# ... 2Io,,12213
This build uses Lava Lash, which many people choose to drop. Points can also be taken away from Improved Windfury Totem if you usually raid with Frost DKs with Imp. Icy Talons. Extra points could go to Reverberation, Imp. Fire Nova (if you use it on your rotation) or such.
Note: Enh Shamans use slow weapons. (the fist weapons from icc, gutbuster, Nightime, etc) never fast weapons like daggers.

SV Hunter:
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter# ... r9A,,12213
Other examples plus Mith's MM spec are on posts below.

I may add more later. Criticism is welcome. Other specs you may want to post are welcome as well.

Seems good.
Since the thread is called "Locus's PvE specs" I'll refrain from posting my spec on the hunter. But if you were to make a hunter/shammy spec, I'll check it through. Don't know too much of other specs, so I'll not play the wise kid :D

Edit: I see you don't have that talent that allows mana to regen even while casting in Shadow Spec. I inspected someone recently, and I saw he did have it. What's that dependent on? OOMing, mana pool, occasion?

I never used it and didn't have mana problems. It's useful if you have them, though. And feel free to post the specs...the thread name is random xD

And thanks Alexandros.

In that case, here is the spec I use on Mithrandir for PvE

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter# ... _GX,,12213

Pretty balanced raiding spec. You'll find that when used in dungeons, you'll be using Aspect of the Viper every now and then, but when you're well-buffed in a raid, you'll find no problems running OOM.
Pretty much DPS focused, despite being balanced. Too bad that [Focused Aim] seems to be bugged on our server, hit chance-wise. Less hitrating on gear=More Arm Pen rating on gear :D
Silencing shot is just a nifty spell, aside from it being useful for.. well.. Silencing. It doesn't trigger the GCD, so you can just use it for a bit of extra damage. :D

I don't know much about MM hunters to be honest, but ty for posting the spec. I played a hunter a lot of time ago but it was Survival (I know they are supposed to make less dps, but some things of MM were bugged on that server).

Actually, that's not fully true. SV is often regarded to as a PvP spec, however, until you get a iLevel 264 bow, both specs are equally good. Still after that bow, some SV hunters with a good spec may be able to outDPS some MM hunters. It's just a totally different playstyle, as I've understood. I have wanted to try it once, but I never really got to it. Pity.

This was the spec I used:
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter# ... r9A,,12213
It can probably be improved since I am not too skilled in hunters (this is why I didn't include it in the above list). However, I am sure one needs to stack agility as a SV hunter.

That does seem like a good spec to me. If I were SV I think I might have specced it the exact same way. Maybe I'd find some way to get Focused Fire, but this does definitely look good. :D

I think http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter# ... efN,,12213 would be a better SV Hunter spec. I briefly tried SV and failed horribly as i didnt know what to do.

2 points in bom should go to either heart of the crusader so you get 2% crit or reckoning...

I still think that reckoning is okay, it's not the best, but it's handy in the sense that it almost always procs straight away and you can get your seal up super quick.

Which reminds me i need to change mine due to bugs, thanks. :)

I stand corrected

And @Peithne, well there's no rotation but spell priority instead, Explosive Shot > Keeping serpent sting on the boss > Aimed Shot > Steady Shot
Note: When Lock and Loaded procs one doesn't have to spam Explosive Shot because the small DoT part of the shot overrides itself and can produce less dps.
Also since there are a lot of talents that increase % of agility and since a big part of SV's damage is spell damage, one has to gem agility instead of armor pen and such.

I think it went like that, but I don't play one since like a year ago :S

Tip for hunters: macro silencing shot into all your abilities so that it always triggers of 'automatically' when you do your rotation, so you don't really need to check its cooldown.
Scotchy - Troll Priest disc PvP
Stung - Troll Hunturd MM PvE/PvP
Saprophyte - Tauren Drood resto PvP
Someone - Orc Warrior PvE prot
Shockakhan - Orc Shaman ele/resto PvP
Orcchop - Orc Rogue mutifaceroll pve/pvp

That's a no.

Think of fights, like Deathwhisper, Professor Putricide. I don't want to have Silencing Shot on Cooldown if I can silence Frostbolt or an Ooze.
