So, as Eronox answered in this thread viewtopic.php?f=16&t=38477 arena season 2 will start with TK release, i.e. in a couple of weeks.

The questions remain though:

- will arena points be wiped?
(If you're going for blizzlike, points didn't get wiped between arena seasons until WotlK expansion)

For those of us who actually did arena in season 1 and have arena points to spend this question is important, as it will decide whether we dump points on some random item we can afford or save some points for s2.


- will season 1 (gladiator) gear be available for honor in season 2?
In retail TBC gear 2 seasons back from the current season was available for honor:
In s3 we were able to buy s1 gear with honor and in s4 we were able to buy s2 gear wtih honor. IIRC gear from the
previous season had reduced arena points costs and no rating requirement except for s3 weapon and shoulders in s4
which still required 1800 and 1950, but those values are not realistic for primal

This will also affect the decision whether to spend points in the remainder of s1 or not (in the event that points will carry over).

- will titles be awarded in the same manner as this thread explains for TW?

i think myelf that the S1 gear should be changed to honor as soon as S2 starts rather than waiting for S3

I actually wouldn't like that very much, but I may be biased, as me and my partner spent the entire season grinding the arena (sometimes literally begging ppl to queue vs. us to get those 10 games required to get points - not easy, especially with 5min wait time per game because of MMR difference).
We got the rating to 2k+ pretty early in the season and maintained it, which gave us about 800-900 pts/week, and we still haven't completed our gladiator sets (I am 4/5 without weapons, while he is 3/5 with mh+oh weapons).

Now imagine everyone getting the full S1 set on the first BG weekend in the next season ;P

yeah, fair enough. well maybe not straight away then. but i would say a little sooner than S3 release

its very hard to hit that arena 1500+ point where your points start scaling up past 266 and I would like to see S1 gear point requirements to be reduced to 800-1000 like what happened with gloves. Maybe offer the S1 gloves with honor points and require a small 1000 arena requirement, but I understand that would be REALLY stretching it for many players.

I would not like to see arena points be wiped when a new season comes.

There has been some misunderstanding regarding the dates, S2 is not actually starting in December. We'll be able to give you more information soon after we discuss it.

Well it's been 5 months since TBC release, roughly the same time period as between retail TBC release and season 2 start. https://wow.gamepedia.com/Template:Arena_seasons
You have to remember that most of the retail TBC population was not even halfway progressed through T5 (or attempting it at all) when BT was released. A lot of time passed before your average raider actually stepped into BT, as the attunement required you to fully clear T5. Most players were wearing S2 gear (that looked like recolored T5) long before actual T5 gear.
On Primal, SSC is already on farm so in terms of gear progression the server is more than ready for S2 pvp gear as pve gear is getting stronger and stronger on players.
It would make sense, and I guess Eronox thought so too when he said that would be the case...

From what I understood of it, Flooded told Eronox S2 would be released with TK, but on earlier notes and during out TBC release schedule he had set them to be released at February. So we need to clear that part out, I'm still connecting things and reaching people out to know whether this was a change in the design or not.
