[PW] Define each class/spec

#1 » Post by Gnurg » 27 Feb 2017 18:24

This is for PrimalWoW.

I want to balance out the battlegrounds in terms of healer, mdps and rdps. Starting it simple with just these 3. I will NOT balance it in terms of item level as it would be very easy to bypass unless we don't allow people to switch gear inside a battleground, so there's no point in suggesting that. Warrior, rogue, death knight, hunter, mage and warlock do not need this.

Choose one talent that I could use to determine what role the player is. It should be a talent that you would always use as one spec, but never in any of the others. If you could be so kind, please provide the spell id and spec of the talent as well.

Paladin, priest, shaman and druid are what we need to define.

** One thing we should take to consideration on PrimalWoW, is that maybe we should define balance druids as a healer. Maybe some other class/spec should be defined as healer as well, elemental shaman?

Paladin - if holy shock -> heals, else -> mdps

Can you not overcomplicate this?

Your only counterargument to not work with ilvl-values literally applies to specs as well...
You can still respec in prep time or after receiving the queue pop. So just queue in your dps spec and then change to your heal spec. -> System is useless!

The big problem is the lack of dispellers and the stacking of certain classes. Just balance it out class-wise ignoring their specs.
Make it so, that when a priest queues, it joins the team with the least amount of priests (A one-up of a class usually has no big impact, so it does not limit players of entering). Apply this to all the classes, it works both ways (the other team will get a useless rogue for each useless rogue you have as well now!).

Ideally you would treat paladins the same as priests in the beginning (in 'only 1 paladin and only 1 priest queued'-situations).

[hide]Asides from this, is there anything stopping us from ilvl-checking worn gear, inventory gear, bank gear (for the cheeky exploiters) all together and setting up a model from there?[/hide]

I was interested in feedback last week, not now.

Shaman:
Enhancement(melee): Stormstrike, spellid=17364.
Resto(healer): Nature's Swiftness, spellid=16188.
Elemental(caster/healer[maybe]): Elemental Mastery, spellid=16166.

Never played Ele on this server, heals are worse than Resto but they might be good enough to classify as healer.

Priest:
Shadow(caster dps): Shadowform, spellid=15473.
Otherwise healer.

Every priest can at least off-heal and every priest can play offensively and dps a bit.

Shadow Priest - Shadow form Talent
Healing Priest - no shadow form talent

Enhance Shaman - Stormstrike
Non Enhance Shaman - No Storm strike (Ele/Resto talents vary greatly so catagorize them as the same)

Feral Druid - Feral Charge Talent
Non Feral - No Feral Charge

DPS Paladin - No Aura Mastery/Holy Shock
Healing Paladin - Aura Mastery/Holy Shock (I'd include EITHER as some paladin builds exclude holy shock)

Catagorize all tanks as DPS for the sake of balance.

Aura Mastery kinda depends on if you want to limit it to Rets with PvP specs or just Rets in general because Aura Mastery is a very common PvE talent for Rets and a lot of people don't respec for PvP.

No need for more help, TrueWoW players already beat you to it. They tend to be better when it comes to using the forum.

Yeah except most of the ones that are in the TW thread aren't applicable for PW. If you got info for this that's not in that thread than sure, ok, just want to point it out.
