Supreme Defender

#1 » Post by Gnurg » 28 Jan 2013 19:55

This achivement requires you to get an honorable kill on flag carriers 100 times. For the moment, this achivement doesn't work here, which is rather dull as it's the only achivement most need to pick up Master of Warsong Gulch.

My suggestion is to grant the achivement to players who have returned 100 or more flags. (As in order to turn in the flag, then you've by 99 % chance also picked up the honorable kill on the flag carrier. The ammount of Flags Returned can be traced under Statistic -> Player vs. Player -> Battleground. At the bottom there it should say Warsong Gulch flags returned: <Number>.

http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1252#comments does mention that you don't need Killing Blows, but just Honorable Kills on the Flag Carrier.

Could I have mine achived?

Mhm, I see. Well it's not working now, so granting it for 100 or more returned flags seems reasonable?

Could a GM/Dev give me a hint if this will be considered?

Nope because many before you have achieved it and not known it to be bugged or will not know about it being added and we do not add achievements of this nature.

I see, but since you can trace everyone's progression in Flag Returning, could you not just run a script that goes through all character and whoever got more than 99 flag returns could have it awarded?

Having more than 99 flag returns is even harder than the achivement itself, as the achivement requires you to be close by the Flag Carrier when he dies, this will require you to have picked up the flag aswell (which means you must have been close by).

I just find it unfair that players who have fullfilled (more than) the requirements aren't awarded with the achivement.

I have no idea if that's possible Gnurg, but I think that if you do an achievement it should be awarded (and your method is fairer than some other things i've seen). Slightly sad that it's bugged, it doesn't seem the hardest to script imo

@Doctor_J: Are there any way to implement whatever fix you had for the achivement before?

This was known a while ago. Apparently a few people have it.

I know some Spermik players already got the achievement before the merge. But a GM must have given it if they are orignal TrueWoW players and the date is September 2012 or later.

Great, I see Peithne gave that one but as far as I can see, he didn't do any others...
