Fun stuff to script

#1 » Post by Doctor_J » 19 Jul 2014 00:00

Some people may have known recently I have been taking a break from fixing quests (well have still fixed a few like investigate the alchemist shop/investigate the blue recluse, etc) but have scripted some of these events which have been on retail since day one of wow but have not really been scripted on private servers, as well as things like frogger in Naxxramas and stinker (companion)

Biggest such project I probably done to date is scripting the archivum console in Ulduar, which together with a lot of my other work has since been pushed to TC too.

I wil give some examples of previous npc events I have scripted to give some examples of what I am looking for, many of these wont be live on TW until theres been a crash or restart, I looking for similar to these in other cities especially alliance since all I have scripted so far have been on horde side (well just undercity xd): -

* Apothecary Keever http://youtu.be/8Sdn6I8cJN8
* Overseer Kraggosh http://youtu.be/ZtXaU3qY5YY
* Gerard Abernathy, Theresa, Joanna Whitehall and Father Lankester http://youtu.be/adFA9lpLSDU
* Jezelle Pruitt (updating my previous script since got more data on this) http://youtu.be/DcDvMPGMlxw
* Brother Malach http://youtu.be/u_rnvCyldjQ
* Samantha Shackleton http://youtu.be/8ebuPOrngBQ
* Sergeant Houser http://youtu.be/yYnKSPKQ_QQ

Now its scripts similar to the above which dont exist on tw, even better if still exists on retail as can sniff data from retail still except for spawns as they will be different between wotlk/cata but in general texts, emotes, spells, etc have not changed.

I am looking for similar npc events to script elsewhere, and before anyone asks no I wont script the Goldshire Pentagram kids its not worth it for a event which occurs once per day.

I maybe able to fix this will look into it,

as for the algalon thing finding the spells for that would not be easy especially when theres probably no data on that event either

There's also a battle in Ironforge Airbase between trolls and dwarfs which seems to be missing alongside lots of npcs and their waypoints.

Great work Doc <3 it's these little things that add up to make our experience just that much better.
Lok'tar ogar! Victory or death - it is these words that bind me to the Horde. For they are the most sacred and fundamental of truths to any warrior of the Horde.

I give my flesh and blood freely to the Warchief. I am the instrument of my Warchief's desire. I am a weapon of my Warchief's command.

From this moment until the end of days I live and die - FOR THE HORDE!

"Exodar? Exodar?!!!! Who gives a damn about such trivial fixes in EXODAR, add damn Transmogrification if you're willing to add such meaningless stuff that barely anyone sees" is something you might hear from someone, but that someone is not me. Thanks for dedicating your time for these cometic fixes, it's cool to have something which makes the game seem more alive, stuff you would only see on retail.
