Connecting with Windows Firewall

#1 » Post by magictimo » 27 May 2024 20:53

Hi guys,

Connecting from a PC with Windows 10 on and have closed the firewall to only allow connections from the game client. Ping's don't work, browser doesn't work only wow should be working.

However it doesn't.

Any ideas?

Hello, this is the first time I see this question but my guess is that you need to use advanced settings and add rules for specific ports. To login to your account you connect to port 3724, then port 8085 to select our realm.
Running the below commands in PowerShell allows testing if you can connect to those ports (though this is outside the game client). TcpTestSucceeded should be True.

Code: Select all

Test-NetConnection login.truewow.org -p 3724
Test-NetConnection login.truewow.org -p 8085
