Pilgrim Cooking Guide 1-350 in less than 15 min and 1 gold.

#1 » Post by Fastor » 25 Nov 2014 01:39

This guide only works during Pilgrim Event 24.11-1.12.

During this event, you can reach 350 cooking skill and Grand Master Cooking with
ONLY 37.25 SIlver in less than 15 minutes.

Having Grand Master Cooking unlocks Cooking Dailys in Dalaran and gives you ability to place Fish Feast that you buy or even make.
Preparation:
you can buy all of this before start or even trade with some friend (notice all mats are bought from vendor in stack of 5):
  • 1x Bountiful Cookbook 1.00 Silver
    65x Simple flour - 3.25 Silver
    65x Mild spice - 1.30 Silver
    210x Autumnal herbs - 4.20 Silver
    355x Honey - 17.75 Silver
65x Pumkin - 3.25 Silver (Stormwind and Undercity vendors)
65x Cranberies - 3.25 Silver (Iron Forge and Orgrimmar vendors)
65x Sweet Potato - 3.25 Silver (Darnassus and Thunder Bluff vendors)
80x Wild Turkey - Farming near Stormwind and Undercity only, cant be bought at vendors but can be traded
Starting:

First go to Cooking Trainer near tables and learn Cooking Proffession 1/75 and all possible recipes.
Second open Bountiful Cookbook and learn first pattern Spiced Bread Stuffing.

Now comes making time.
Go near Cooking Table or make Camp Fire and make 65 Spiced Bread. Notice it will go grey at 40/75 and no longer give skill. Dont worry about it as you will need 65 Spiced Bread for next task.
When you make them, start making Spiced Bread Stuffing. You will have mats for 65 of it, make all of them.
WARNING: Be warned that this can make you reach 100+ skill but you are limited to 75/75. Just when you reach or pass 50/75 go to Trainer and get higher Cooking 75/150.

After you reach 100+ skill, learn second recipe Pumpkin Pie. You will have mats for 65 of it and make all of them.
WARNING: Also same problem, recipe will push you to 160+ but you can only max 150/150 currently. Just at 125/150 get to Trainer and get higher Cooking.

At 160+ skill, learn third recipe Cranberry Chutney. Also make 65 of them and watch not to reach 225/225 before you visit Trainer.

At 220+ skill, learn fourth recipe Candied Sweet Potato. Make 65 of them.

At 280+ skill, you will find problem. Trainer cant teach you anymore but you are near cap 280/300, so you need to go to Dalaran to learn Master Cooking 280/375. After it, learn last recipe Slow-roasted Turkey.

Another problem with this is that you cant buy Turkey from vendor. You will have to farm for it. It actually is no problem, they are just outside Stormwind for allys and Undercity for horde. Gather 80 of them and cook them all.

At 350/375 recipe will become grey and no skill will come from it. But that doesnt matter as you can go to Dalaran again and learn 350/450 Grand Master Cooking!

What to do with all this food in bag?

With all food you made, you can turn in for Dailys which are part of Pilgrim Achievements. Or if you dont like Achievements, you can at least chose Pelt Rifle and turn people to Turkeys in Dalaran. Ofc you can vendor them and gain more money than you gave to learn this.

UPDATE 1: Over 350 skill

Ok so got few questions "what now" and here is thing, its few more points till "hard as hell". Your priority right now is to reach 400 skill to buy one of daily recipes. There are three ways:

First one, is to buy or farm Chilled Meat for Northrend Stew. It drops of any beast in Northrend so its easy to find. It goes green at 365 and grey at 385. This wont help you reach 400 but will help you save mats for other two ways.

Second is to buy or farm Succulent Clam Meat x2 for Dalaran Clam Chowder. It drops from Clams found while fishing and it drops off Murloc mobs in Borlean Thundra and of Oracle mobs while doing dailys for Frenzyheart. Usualy they are cheap as you can get lot of them in short time. It goes green at 382 but grey at 415 which is good as you achieved goal.

Third, and probably best one, is Kungaloosh. All mats are sold cheap by vendors in Dalaran. Can be used after for mana and getting drunk in raid. Goes green at 387 which is better than other two and grey just at 400 which is cool.
Problem is, you need to do this quest chain for it in Scholazar basin Some Make Lemonade....

400-450:

After you hit 400, you should chose one of recipes sold by Cooking assistents in Dalaran. Pick one that you are sure can find mats for it and probably one that you will use in raid for Well Fed buff in case there are no Fish Feast.

At 425 each recipe will go green and you would probably like to buy Upgraded recipe of that pattern at same vendor.

Cool guide, I'll just add that the number of turkey's needed can be more than x80, due to the recipe going green(difficulty) at 345.

Um, 280 to 320 is orange that are 40 turkeys than 320 to 345 are 25 turkeys at yellow which means you have 15 turkeys left for last 5 points.

Well the last 5 points, as the skill level is green can take quite a few tries to get the points up, as of my last toon which finished leveling cooking to 350, 1 took 130 turkeys (highest so far) & 3 more took 81-100 turkey's, though 1 did manage to finish on 81 turkeys.
