It apparently won't let me choose anything.

On Blood Elf it says: Could not change race for character.
For Troll, Undead, Tauren or Orc it says: You must choose a new race from your current faction.

I did try that, also tried switching races around then back to orc.

Is it ok if I just pick another race and you guys could enable a race change again afterwards? As is it keeps insisting I must pick a new race and cannot remain Orc.

I would recommend the timer for looting non-elites be increased by at least a couple of minutes.
