I was playing with my recruited friend when all of a sudden the server went down. Is this maintenance? Is it a server crash?

I've done Thousand Needles(up until the higher level quests in Shimmering Flats which are all red), Stonetalon Mountains, Ashenvale and Hillsbrad Foothills. Every quest I can take now is red.

I'm level 28 and I seem to have run out of quests for my level. The only quests I can find are 4-8 levels higher than my own, and mobs are 4-6 levels higher than me. Any advice? It seems that 1-60 on true wow is paced like vanilla without the xp nerfs that WoTLK introduced to get new players into 70...
